Grab your hat and your family too and come on out to The Gordon Ranch for BBQ!  We'll be servin' all the fixins' for a larrupin' good time!

Employee and Immediate Family are Free (and includes employee's spouse, significant other, children and parents)  Fee for additional guests of employees and contractors are: $5.00/Adult  $2.50/4-13 years  Free/3 and under.  Please make checks payable to:  ExxonMobil Chemical

"Activities"

Pony rides and petting zoo for the little buckaroos and horseshoe pitchin', relay races, sack races, water balloon toss, basketball, bingo, volleyball, softball, obstacle course, paddleboats, canoeing, fishing and putting competition for different age groups.

"Safety and Security"

Canoeing and Lake--Children under the age of 3 will not be allowed to enter a canoe.  Children 12 and under will not be allowed to enter a canoe without an adult over 18 years of age.  LIFE JACKETS (provided) are mandatory for everyone who canoes. Absolutely NO SWIMMING is allowed in the lake at any time.  A Red-Cross Certified Gordon Ranch Lifeguard will be on duty.  First aid is available at the Lodge as well as the lake.

Guests will NOT be allowed to bring firearms, weapons, explosives, or hazardous materials onto the property.  NO SMOKING is allowed in any building on the property.  Glass containers are not allowed on the property.

Remember....The Gordon Ranch is a natural protected wooded area so if you are allergic to poison ivy, please take precaution!  And for your "pet's safety", please leave them at home. 

"Chili Cook-Off"

Spice up your work life by teaming up with colleagues to create a lip-smackin' good pot of "Texas Red."  Teams can represent offices or departments.  Everyone is encouraged to participate!  Chili will be cooked on-site at 1:00 p.m.  Awards will be announced around 4:00 p.m.

Awards will be given for the "Best Tastin' Chili", "Most Creative Chili", "Best Presented Chili" and the "Worst Chili Ever"...!  Your chili recipe, presentation and decorations are up to the individual teams.  For more information or to sign up your team, contact Linda Roberts, 281.870.6162 or email her linda.s.roberts@exxonmobil.com  You may also sign up your team at the "Chili-Fest" at Noon on Friday, October 1.  Or online at RSVP

 

"Chili Cook-Off Rules"
Your Chance To Be The First ExxonMobil Chili Champ

  1. Appoint a person to be your designated Chili-Rep.
  2. Collect names of all attendees and chili teams.  Team information form is on website RSVP
  3. Your team space will be marked with a sign.
  4. Chili must be cooked from scratch using raw meat the day of the cook-off. 
  5. Your recipe is up to the team.
  6. Propane burners are allowed for cooking--no gas or BBQ rigs allowed.
  7. Cooks are to prepare and cook in as sanitary a manner as possible.
  8. We don't care how you make your chili, but we have to see you eat it first before we give any to the judges.
  9. Sampling cups and spoons will be provided along with trash bins.
  10. Teams are responsible for the clean up of their area after the cook-off.
  11. At 1:30 pm teams will be given a cup with a ticket taped to the bottom and a ticket with the same number inside the cup.  Remove the ticket from inside the cup and guard it with your life.  It is the only way to identify the winning entires.  Teams may start cooking as early as 1:00 p.m.
  12. Chili winners will be announced around 4 p.m.

Directions From the Southwest Freeway (59)
South on Highway 59 to Highway 6, Exit Highway 6 and turn right, Go approximately 2 miles on Highway 6 and turn left onto Highway 90A (Landmarks to look for:  Sam's Club and Super Wal-mart on the right), Go approximately 5 miles on Highway 90A and turn right onto FM 359 (Landmark: The Soil Market on the left)
Go approximately 8 miles on FM 359 to The Gordon Ranch (Landmark: The Swinging Door on right, Enchanted Gardens on right, red light at FM 723)

Directions From the Katy Area
Take Interstate 10 West to Grand Parkway/Texas 99, Go approximately 5 miles on Grand Parkway to  FM 1093 and turn right, Go to FM 723 and turn left, Go to FM 359 and turn right (Landmarks: Texaco on right, mini horse farm on left, red light at intersection), Go approximately 1/4 mile on FM 359 to The Gordon Ranch
